Grand finals! Game 1 of the finals! RMP mirror with Reckful as Sdance.

And what an epic game! Most intense game in this tournament and this in the finals! Reckful really outplaying Satz here getting a Sap on him mid game. This game was amazingly close as Reckful’s Cheat death procced as he’s counting down his cloak cooldown from 5. As he’s screaming from ontop of his voice he manages to finish Satz off while Numberone is in a full sheep. Amazing game.

3-2 Loaded.Black

Game 2 on Nagrand again.

Reckful is being opened on and Reckful drops really low but he manages to get a cloak off. Sodah had to trinket and they try to switch on him. As Reckful has to open to peal for Sodah and he isn’t fully topped off, he gets switched on and albeit using Sdance to get a stun on Satz, he still gets kidney’d and dies in the process.

4-2 Loaded.Black

Game 3 of the finals on RoV.

Reckful gets blinded and trinkets it to stay on the Mage but gets nova’d and he has to blow an evasion. Still this pressure forces Orangemarmalade to block but Sodah is already going low. Orange misses a CS on Venruki but Sodah still can’t keep himself up against the burst coming out from all three Koreans.

5-2 Loaded. Tournament point for the undefeated

Slow game start in the first tournament point game and Reckful gets taken out with a very quick Blizzard. Sweet play by Reckful in the beginning forcing both PS and Cloak from Satz but the momentum is turned when Satz gets a restealth off. Reckful has to run but gets a restealth himself just like Satz later on. The match just gets totally nuts again from there on as the game is so incredibly close again resulting in Satz dying and Reckful getting away with procced cheat death and 300 HP with a shield up half a second before a lance hits him. Sick.

5-3 Loaded.

Early sap onto sodah and he gets stripped of his buffs which leads Sodah sitting at !90! HP and he manages to top himself up all supported by battlecries. Reckful turns it around on Satz and cries out for a line of burst on Satz who dies after a while. Madness.

5-4 Loaded.

Again Loaded starts on Sodah on Dalaran Arena and he has to PS himself in the Kidney. They try to get a CC chain onto Numberone but it fails and Sodah doesn’t survive this time. It was still a really good series and definitely worthy of a final.

Loaded wins!

Lower bracket finals! coL.Red vs Fnatic

Game one on RoV.

Woundman gets Shadowfuried out of stealth and is getting kited for a bit. He tries to get to Sodah but can’t quite get to him so he decides to switch to Venruki. The Mage has to trinket the kidney as he already blinked before. As cooldowns both offensively and defensively are running out for Woundman the Wizard cleave decides to brew on Woundman while Douja is in a full CC and he goes down.

1-0 coL.Red

The second round will take place on Nagrand, which will hopefully make the game a lot fairer for Fnatic.

Even with the LoS offered by Nagrand, it was just pretty much a shooting range for the team of coL Red. Fnatic had a decent start with not taking much damage, but after coL got their CC chains in progress, there was absolutely nothing that Fnatic could do to bring it back.

Excellent play from coL showing how good their communication and team work is with the CC chains. I don’t think Fnatic are going to be able to overcome the Wizard Cleave.

2-0 coL Red. Match point.

Game 3, Dalaran Arena with Woundman as Shadowdance.

COL again going hard on Woundman and he’s getting dangerously low and has to blow Cloak as once again Douja is in a CC. Woundman has to play defensively the entire time and he gets so low that his cheat death procs and he can Vanish off. He gets almost topped off once again but he still tries to stay aggressive which is a very questionable decision.

Fnatic gets aced and is out of the tournament. Score: 3-0 coL.red

Loaded.Black vs coL.Red

First game of the upper bracket finals. MLD vs RMP.

Complexity really taking the momentum in the beginning of the game forcing tons of defensive cooldowns out of Satz as well as Divine Hymn. After a little back and forth they bring Satz down a second and a third time. Satz is doing a fabulous job at kiting while his teammates are being controlled (many Rogues would’ve died here). Orange in expectance of being trained used his resist trinket and is able to survive the burst. No one of complexity ever really feels any pressure but every player on the Korean team kites amazingly well and is able to survive. They are switching back on Satz as he is sitting in the open this time and is not able to kite away and Numberone eats an well done CC chain. Total domination by coL at this point. A must see game when the VoDs are up.

1-0 coL.

The second game will take place on Ruins, which should offer an advantage to coL Red.

Loaded Black start and finish the game on Sodah, as it lasts for about 20 seconds. Not really a lot to say other than some great play by Orangemarmalade to keep the whole team of coL under control. Sodah kited away from his team mates and the only LoS on that terrible map, which ultimately may have decided it.

1-1

Game 3 on RoV. Advantage coL.Red.

Again Loaded is gunning for Sodah who can get a decent amount of prehots on himself. The tscho tscho train is rolling onto Sodah but no nature’s grasp to be found and Satz uptime on Sodah is just too high, killing him pretty much on his own. Sodah probably tried to switch the pillar just a little to early. Is training the Druid into oblivion the way to go?

2-1 Loaded.Black

The fourth game takes place on Nagrand, which is about as good / even as you can get. Will Loaded be able to finish up their comeback?

Loaded Black use the exact same strategy of their previous victories and train Sodah from start to finish. There was some decent CC put out by coL to try and stop the damage onto Sodah, but ultimately it seemed like there was nothing coL could do to stop the Druid death.

3-1 Loaded.Black.

Fnatic vs SK.US

Game one on BEM. RLS nirror.

Early pressure onto Yog but they can only put him to 70%. Woundman opens on Kollektiv after he comes out of a blind but switches onto Realz. Kollektiv a little to close to Realz as he was afraid of getting switched on himself and he gets focus kicked which ends Realz life. Good call by Woundman there.

1-0 Fnatic.

The second game of the series is going to take place on Dalaran Arena.

As you would expect from an RLS mirror match, there was a huge amount of damage in the game going both ways. SK spent the majority of the game training Woundman, coming close to killing him on a couple of occasions; forcing an NS out of Douja. Once they had made Douja use his cooldowns, they switched onto him and killed him with relative ease.

SK completely overwhelmed Fnatic in that game.

Series tied at 1-1

Game starts slow with both teams looking for an opportunity. Mid game Kollektiv catches a pretty unfortunate fear in terms of pathing and he sits in a full kidney but Realz is on Woundman hard and both are barely escaping death. After a little kiting Woundman is on Kollektiv while the other 2 dps are on Douja but Woundman can’t kill Kollektiv on his own. An amazingly intense and close game. Everyone is oom and low on healt and they trade Rogues. Both Shamans are trying to get drinks off but Douja has less life and SK.US is completely dominating the situation with Douja always scraping 20% HP. Glick controls Yog which enables Kollektiv to get a couple of drinks off. You can tell how close these teams are skillwise. Unfortunately the game turns into a full blown 2vs2 and it has to be regamed.

As long as the first game was as quick is the regame. Realz flakes and trinkets either a Cheapshot or nothing expecting a kidney from Woundman to get a cloak up. Lan veteran Dr.Realz showing some nerves.

2-1 Fnatic

The fourth game of the series is going to take place on Dalaran Arena, can Fnatic capitalise on Realz’ mistake and take the series?

A huge damage spam match again between the games. Fnatic had control of the game after SK’s initial damage spam onto Woundman. There was some serious miscommunication in the SK team, as Realz LoS’d Kollektiv while he was trying to healing back up to full after Kollektiv had to jump down from the platform to stay alive.

Did Realz cost SK the match? Without a doubt.

3-1 Fnatic.

SK.US vs coL.Red

The first game of the series is going to take place on Blade’s Edge, with it being RLD vs RLS.

A relatively quick game, with SK having full control of the game. Reckful’s dance was controlled entirely which meant SK took really no pressure in the game. SK blew bloodlust and brought down Sodah without any really effective peeling offered by his team mates.

You could argue that DC / Fear opened up the kill opportunity, but coL didn’t really offer anything to the game to suggest they could have won.

1-0 SK.

Game 2 on Dalaran Arena

Opener on Glick but it really doesn’t translate into any damage. coL switches to Realz and Reckful dances on him but Kollektiv can keep him up without wasting any cooldowns. Realz cloaks off and heads to Sodah who’s in a terrible position but he can survice. Reckful dances on Realz again and he goes souldrain range low but Kollektiv absolutely clutches this situation, shocking the cast while also putting out good HPS. Meanwhile Realz get a Gouge on Reckful as he sits at 1,5k HP and he gets topped off also because Glick really controls the situation there. They switch up the momentum on the unhotted Snutz who goes down pretty quickly despite also wearing the Sindragosa resist trinket making the next game a matchpoint for SK.US.

2-0 SK.US

The third game is going to take place on Blade’s Edge, with coL Red switching to their Wizard Cleave with Venruki playing his Mage. Can coL bring it back with this change?

An interesting game where coL’s switch of comp really benefited them. SK didn’t really put out any real pressure for the whole game, but they did admittedly come close to killing to Sodah. The game basically reset damage wise half way through, but Realz at some point used his Cloak offensively; once coL realised this, they did the usual Wizard Cleave burst and killed him in 2 seconds of play.

No real highlights in the game from either teams.

2-1 SK.US

Game 4 on the notorious Ring of valor…

and Kollektiv tastes the amazingness of this map right of the bat eating every CC there is from coL.Red but Realz can stay health. As Kollektiv gets into a second full DR clone and Realz gets caught in a DF with an immolate already on him. Snutz knows what time it is and screams his “CHIKA!”. Not really surprising, keyboard smashing against a Melee is enough on this map.

2-2. Comeback time.

The deciding game of the series will take place on Nagrand Arena, will coL be able to complete the story of the comeback kids?!?

An extremely intense game! SK spent most of the game training Venruki, coming very close to killing him on couple of occasions, but ultimately Ice Block was able to keep him alive. coL kept going for the Realz burst, and after going through 3 Cloak negations and a Cheat Death, they were finally able to pull it off, right on the verge of Venruki being completely OOM.

Snutz pretty much decided who won that game, but this isn’t to take away from Sodah’s excellent CC on the team of SK. What a comeback!

3-2 coL.

Fnatic vs Loaded.Black

The first game will take place on Dalaran Arena.

A very very quick game, with Loaded Black doing nothing but training Douja for the whole duration of the match; which was admittedly only 20 seconds long.

I don’t really think any RLS can keep up against Loaded Black’s strategy of training the Shaman (which you may remember Dignitas tried doing at ESL, but failed due to the gear I guess) while the Rogue and Lock are CC’d out of the game.

1-0 Loaded.

Game 2 on Nagrand Arena

Sap on Orange as Yog is trying to fear the Mage which missed. Satz manages to get a restealth off and they go hard on Woundman which has to cloak as Douja is sheeped. Yog is apparently having trouble with his pet and calls it out. BB is just resetting till they can get a clean opener on Woundman and a Sheep which Woundman is pretty upset about. A lot of unfortunate RNG dispells against Fnatic surely happened which shut them down from all offensive possibilities. A blind into a dotted target didn’t help either. Loaded on Match point.

2-0 Loaded.

Game 3 on Nagrand.

Loaded going hard on Douja again and as short as this description is, as fast was this game over. Great avoiding of the peals Yog and Woundman were trying to through out. Fnatic down to the lower bracket.

3-0 Loaded

Nerdstompers vs coL.red

Game one on Blades edge WLD vs RLD

Really dominant play by Nerdstompers from the get go. Druids in focus on both sides and Velsuz pulling of superb Cyclones & roots. Nerdstompers were switching between Sodah and Reckful who again is wearing his heavy defensive gear. Very good prediction skills in terms of ShD and it never got scary for Nerdstompers. What led to the kill was a clutch half duration clone onto Sodah into a fear which he has to trinket but the globals he loses there are simply the deciding factor. Pressure was high during the entire game as both Sodah and Reckful were sitting at ~60% for the majority of the game. Another game to definitely look out for as far as VoDs go. Hoodrych bossing it up in voice.

1-0 Nerdstompers

The second game will take place on Ruins; this offers no real advantage to either team!

The game started with Hoodrych eating quite a heavy CC chain, which forced him to use his trinket fairly on into the game and allowed coL to CC him quite heavily. coL decided to train Velsus for the majority of the game, forcing him to use NS early on in the game. Nerdstompers seemed to be out of the game damage wise, but then stepped up and put a huge amount of damage on Reckful, which Sodah was able to heal through for the majority of the game. Nerdstompers took control of the game after the mid-way point, having both Sodah and Reckful well below half health, Sodah was never really able to heal Reckful back up to full health; and after his Reckful Cheat Deathed, he died a few seconds later.

Great play by Hoodrych in that game.

2-o NS

Game 3 Blades Edge

Early pressure on Reckful with a dangerous fear onto Sodah which instantly “spikes Hoodrychs attention”. Reckful with a clutch Shadowstep onto Velsuz which really saves his life there and he gets topped off by the hots. Velsuz gets some coL attention but Reckful is also low. Sodah clones Velsuz to set up a burst but Hoodrych is storming at the same time so they can’t go in for the kill and have to play defensive. Nadagast 2nd pet dies and Reckful manages to Shadowstep kick the hard summon only to dance on him and finish him off. Reckful mvp this game.

2-1 NS

The fourth game is going to take place on Ruins, will coL be able to make use of their momentum?

Another long winded game. Nerdstompers had almost complete control of this game for the entire duration, with coL having some nice switching onto Velsus a few times and coming very very close to killing him. Nerdstompers spent most of the game just training down Reckful, who was kept under control for 90% of the game.

Not really sure why coL didn’t play Wizard Cleave for what would have probably been an easy series for them, but fortunately this decision made the games shorter.

3-1 Nerdstompers.

SK.US vs ArenaPwnage

Game1 on Dalaran Arena

SK gaming goes on Novoz right away but Realz gets Thunderstormed. The distance isn’t as far and he managed to connect on Novoz again. DrMayo gets caught in a fear without trinket as he used it on a blind. Novoz drops slowly but surely and a souldrain seals the deal. Novoz being target for the first time in the tournament. Glick shining this game.

1-0 SK-US

The second game is going to take place on Nagrand Arena, should be a lot easier for SK to play.

SK use the same strat as they used in their last game with targeting Novozz initially, while AP constantly pump damage into Glickz pet, they eventually  kill him and force Glick to  Fel Dom. SK switch to Talbadarr forcing him to disperse, then switch back onto Novozz. He survives after dropping to 1/3rd health, and then SK switch onto DrMayo, but this ultimately fails and then they go back onto Novozz. A huge damage spike onto Novozz forces an NS from DyMayo to keep him alive. After SK control pretty much the game, DrMayo does an incredibly clutch play to stop Kollektiv from healing with War Stomp Cyclone, and his team mates kill Realz within 2 seconds of burst damage.

SK had complete control of the game, but ultimately let it slip towards the end due to the retarded burst Wizards are capable of.

1-1

Game 3 on RoL

Many good switchews from SK.US who have the momentum the entire time as ArenaPwnage is lingering for a burst window. Novoz really on top of interrupting soul drains consistently, which he has to for about 4-5 times. Really good coordination on defensive CDs from SK.US. Novoz and Talbadar are really low on Mana and it feels like SK.US needs to get the final blow done which they do in a great burst combo on Novoz. If they didn’t mess up Realz first blind really extended this game here. Realz playing it safe whenever cloak was down while Kollektiv playing really mana efficient. Had he gotten the innervate of the completely stripped DrMayo, this game would’ve been much shorter. Still a dominat performace by SK.US. Very enjoyable game as player chat was included. Note that as a VoD to watch.

2-1 SK.US

The fourth game will take place on Dalaran, which should offer an advantage to AP. Hopefully SK can win this series, as it will make it more interesting and I hate Wizard Cleave!

An extremely intense game on Dalaran arena, which did end up favouring  AP due to the Thunderstorm spam from Novozz. The game ultimately played like the last one, with both teams using the exact same targets. SK had the majority of the pressure in the game switching between all the members of AP, while AP kept having their burst opportunities on Realz; but he ultimately kept getting his Cloak just in time. The game ended up being decided with Talbadarr jumping off the platform which opened him up to all the damage available, and forcing DrMayo to run into a Howl of Terror from Glickz, which ultimately sealed the kill.

A very good series between these teams. Solid play from all of SK; in particular Kollektiv.

3-1 SK.US
